A Progressive, Hope-filled, Christian Community

Whoever you are, wherever you are on life’s journey, you are welcome here! Our Sunday mornings begin in a relaxed community atmosphere. Services offer thoughtful sermons, music, & shared joys, concerns & service opportunities as we journey together, caring for ourselves, each other & our world.

Our new Sanctuary & Gathering Space are approaching the finish line!

We are extremely grateful to 2nd Presbyterian Church for providing a place to hold our worship services, meetings, & special events, AND we are looking forward to being home at COS! We are very close to being ready to move back!

COMING SOON! MORE SPACE…SAME EXTRAVAGANT WELCOME!

Our Beliefs

Church of the Savior is an inclusive, caring, open and affirming church committed to social justice.

No matter who you are or where you are on life's journey, you are welcome here.

We are publicly open and affirming of all people regardless of age, race, culture, sexual orientation, gender identity and economic status.

The native climbing vine will grow up from the earth to provide shade and shelter for the Outdoor Chapel and to remind those who worship here of the sacredness of creation. There are 12 columns, invoking the 12 disciples of Jesus, along with a natural wooden cross adorning the exterior wall.

When asked what he likes about Church of the Savior, Asa, age 9 said ‘basically, everything...and I love being with my family there!’
— Asa Wolf

“Kindness tastes like warm white bean chicken chili after you

come home from the hospital. Kindness sounds like the voice of

friends calling to offer love and help. Kindness looks like a basket

filled with cards that say we are standing with you and praying

for you. Kindness is in the DNA of Church of the Savior. Knoxville

needs a COS, a community spreading kindness in a world that needs it so much.”

— PAT CHASTAIN, COS MEMBER
